The Rockford Fosgate RZR14-STG5 was the top of the line Polaris RZR stereo package until the recent release of the RZR14-STG6. This kit includes upgraded front speaker, upgraded rear cage-mounted speakers, a glovebox subwoofer, a 1500 watt 5 channel amplifier, a PMX-3 head unit, an RGB LED controller, and the harness to connect everything together. Rockford Fosgate recently updated and upgraded these kits with their new M2 speakers and subwoofers, as well as the amplifier with their IPX6 rated M5 series amps. If you like it loud, this kit is going to get loud, but it’s not the loudest kit Rockford offers. They now offer the RZR14-STG6 which is virtually the same, but it comes with 8″ horn tweeter tower speakers for a melt-your-face-off loud experience.

Description
Speakers
The RZR14-STG5 kit includes the Rockford Fosgate M2-65B speakers. These speakers handle 150 watts RMS and have a 1″ tweeter that is made from a proprietary material that Rockford calls, “PXNX.” These speakers handle nearly twice the power of the old Stage 5 speakers. The PXNX tweeter is not only louder and more efficient, but it also provides a cleaner sound profile than aluminum and titanium dome tweeters. You get the best of both worlds with 6.5″ speakers that handle power, deliver that Rockford “Loud,” that you expect, but they also sound amazing. The sensitivity is rated at 91.8 dB @ 1W/1M which is much higher than virtually all other 6.5″ marine grade speakers.
In addition to the improved speaker performance, the M2-65B speakers also look better. These speakers now include Rockford’s Color Optix RGB LEDs. The speakers will now light up and you can control both the color and the mode with the Rockford Fosgate phone app. The RGB LED controller is included with the kit and you connect to it via Bluetooth on your phone. All of the wiring and connections needed for the Color Optix RGB LEDs are integrated into the main harness. Both the speaker connections and the LED connections are plug-and-play.
The M2-65B speakers that come in this RZR14-STG5 stereo package come with both the open-style, 6 spoke grilles as well as the stainless steel mesh grilles that are iconic for “Rockford Marine.” You can choose which grilles you like best and the rear tower speakers offer the same option and flexibility to match.
Amplifier
The RZR14-STG5 includes the Rockford Fosgate M5-1500X5, 1500 watt 5-channel amplifier. This amplifier delivers 125 watts to each 6.5″ speaker and up to 350 watts to each subwoofer. This amp is similar to the previous generation, but it is now IPX6 rated, it has higher power ratings, and it comes with UTV specific Preset tone switches. The IPX6 rating means that the amp can be sprayed down and get wet, you just can’t submerge it. The connections on the ends of the amplifier are sealed and overmolded and there is a waterproof cover for the tone controls.
In addition to the increased power, the game changer with the M5-1500X5 amplifier are the UTV kit-specific preset switches. When turned to the “On” position, the amplifier bypass the tone controls on the amplifier and uses the optimal gain and crossover settings that were optimized and set by Rockford’s engineering and product development team. This takes the guesswork out of the tone controls. You don’t have to worry about the gains, or the crossovers, or any of that. Simply set the switches properly and you are good to go. This guarantees that you don’t get clipped signals and that you minimize distortion for maximum volume and clarity while ensuring that you don’t blow your speakers, subwoofer, or amplifier.
Subwoofers & Enclosures
This RZR14-STG5 kit includes comes with a glove box subwoofer enclosure and a 10 inch M2D2-10B subwoofer. The 10 inch M2 subwoofer can handle 400 watts RMS which is a significant upgrade over the previous generation’s RM110D2B which only handled 200 watts RMS. The enclosure features a ported design for improved output, but it also comes with a cap, if you take your RZR through water and want to seal it up. The texture on the subwoofer enclosure matches the texture of the RZR’s interior and bolts directly to factory mounting points. You do lose the storage from the glovebox with this kit, but most RZRs that are adding a stereo system like this, have added additional storage like door bags, center bags, trunk storage, etc.
The 10 inch M2 subwoofer comes with Color Optix RGB LEDs to light up and match the front speakers and the rear cage mount speakers.
Head Unit & Dash Kit
This kit includes a PMX-3 marine head unit and the Rockford Fosgate RZR dash kit. The two combine to provide an OEM quality appearance in your dash while also providing a user fiendly interface to control your stereo system. The PMX-3 head unit offers virtually everything you could want from a UTV head unit. The PMX-3 comes with an AM/FM/WB tuner, Bluetooth, USB, AUX, and it is SiriusXM ready. In addition, the PMX-3 has a video input and a reverse trigger wire which allows you to install a back-up camera. The backup camera option is especially nice if you use harnesses and you your strapped in. Looking over your shoulder isn’t easy. The PMX-3 has a full color, 2.7″ TFT display and has an easy-to-use volume knob that is large enough to control while wearing gloves. The front of the unit has push button subwoofer control which allows you to quickly adjust bass levels depending on the song and recording.
Cage Mount Speakers
The M2WL-65MB, rear cage mounted speakers have been upgraded as well in the RZR14-STG5. They speakers are the same M2-65B speakers that are used up front. They handle the same amount of power, 150 watts RMS, have the same PXNX tweeter, have the Color Optix RGB LEDs, and they come with both grille styles. The clamps swivel 360-degrees which allows you to point and aim them in any direction you choose, regardless of whether you have a stock cage or an aftermarket cage. These tower speakers will play louder and sound better than the previous generation. The clamps will fit tubing up between 1.0 and 2.0 inches in diameter.
What makes these cage mount speakers unique is the 360-degree rotating, rear-illuminited “Diamond R” Rockford Fosgate logo. The logo on the back lights up using the Color Optix RGB LEDs and the logo can be rotated so that it sits an the angle you want, regardless of where the clamp is located. So, this allows you to have the clamp on the side at 3 o’click but the logo is still straight, and it is lit up to match the color that is on the speaker cone.
Harness
The wiring harness for the RZR14-STG5 has been updated to include the connections for the Color Optix RGB LEDs. In addition, the connection for the cage mounted speakers and the under seat subwoofers has changed slightly. Everything is designed to be plug and play and there is no cutting, stripping, splicing, crimping, twisting, soldering, or taping required. The rear harness for the cage mounted speakers plugs into the main harness and the main harness works for both 2-seat and 4-seat vehicles.
